2007 QUILT SHOW

February 23 and 24, 2007
Canterbury Village - Lake Orion, Michigan

GLHQ had over 1,500 people in attendance at our first quilt show.

The Viewer's choice award of $150 went to Aileen Stanis of Berkley for her Civil War Stars quilt. It is hand appliqued, exquisitely hand quilted and made with Civil War reproductions fabrics. There are 977 appliqued leaves in the border.

The second runner up was Becky Magnus of Bloomfield Hills. She was awarded a $100 gift certificate, donated by Quilt 'n Friends, for her Santa's Village. It is hand appliqued by Becky Magnus and machine quilted by Chris Husak. Made for her granddaughter, some of the village buildings were inspired by actual places where the granddaughter lives in New Hampshire. The quilt was inspired by a "Piece O Cake" design.

The raffle quilt was won by GLHQ's own Pam Mathias - lucky girl!
